  1. Step: 01: Preheat oven

    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Step: 02: Season steaks

    Season steaks on both sides.
  3. Step: 03: Heat skillet

Heat skillet on stovetop to medium heat.
  4. Step: 04: Sear steaks

Sear steaks for 1 minute per side. This will lock in all those delicious juices.
  5. Step: 05: Cook in oven

Cook steaks in oven until internal temperature reaches 145°F for medium rare.
  6. Step: 06: Let it rest

Rest steaks on a cutting board for 3 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute for the best tasting steak around.
  7. Step: 07: Slice

    Slice steaks against the grain.

Tips

Use your favorite steak rub or keep it simple with salt and pepper. Your skillet is hot enough when you hear a sizzle when the steak touches the skillet’s surface. Check out our doneness chart to learn more about your preferences. The steak’s internal temperature continues to rise during resting.
