Texas Beef Council is proud to announce its new statewide search for the Beef Loving Texans’ Best Butcher in Texas. Applications for the contest will be accepted through February 12, and  a grand prize of $5,000 will be awarded to the winner.

In an ode to the art of butchery, we’re looking for the best of the best throughout Texas to showcase their craft in this competition, which will also explore the different aspects of beef butchery that make it a key element in Texas’ cultural heritage. By entering, you’ll have the opportunity to win cash prizes, score some major bragging rights and travel to different parts of the state. No formal certifications are required to enter. Contest Dates & Details

The deadline to enter the Beef Loving Texans’ Best Butcher in Texas contest is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, February 12. We will notify those selected as semifinalists by Friday, February 17. The locations and dates of the regional semifinal rounds are as follows:

  • Houston: Saturday, March 4 
  • Dallas: Saturday, March 18
  • San Antonio: Saturday, April 1

The Beef Loving Texans’ Best Butcher in Texas final competition will be held Saturday, April 29 at the Austin Food + Wine Festival.
